Using the shopping basket

Q: How do I find what I want in Irishmaps.ie?
A: To search Irishmaps.ie, click on the SEARCH link at the top of each page to get to the search form. Simply key in either a placename or a keyword to start. Alternatively you may enter the map title, if you know it, or the ISBN number. If you wish to view all the maps available in any Series/Range simply select one and click Search.

Spelling mistakes cannot be accommodated by the database which requires an exact match, but it is possible to type in a few letters of any name such as "Dub" in the case of "Dublin" and all items containing the letters "Dub" will be displayed in the results.
This is useful if you are not sure of the spelling of the place you are looking for. From the results you can check in more detail each item on the list.

Q: What can I purchase from Irishmaps.ie?
A: You can purchase any title or item from our continually expanding range of maps and guides.

Using the shopping basket
Use the shopping basket to store any items you are interested in purchasing. This is also a quick way of finding out how much your maps will cost. You are under no obligation to buy the items you put in your basket.

Q: How do I pay - credit cards accepted in Irishmaps.ie?
A: You may pay by using the following types of credit card: Visa, Mastercard, Eurocard, Delta and Laser.

We regret we are unable to accept debit cards or American Express, Diners Club, Visa Electron, Maestro, Discover and Solo cards.

Please note that for customers using certain cards, that the 'Expiry Date' is the same as the 'Good Thru Date'.

Q. How safe is it to use my credit or debit card in Irishmaps.ie?
A. Security in Irishmaps.ie is one of our main concerns, and for this reason we do not process the actual credit card transactions on the Irishmaps.ie server, but on the secure WorldPay server.

Q: Your payment area doesn't ask for my type of credit card?
A: When you make a purchase in Irishmaps.ie you will notice that in the area where you submit your credit card details, there is no place to select the type of credit card. This is because the card type is automatically based on your card number.

Q: What happens next?
A: Immediately after your card has been authorised you will receive two emails. The first is from WorldPay, who carry out the card processing, which will contain a unique Digital Receipt number and your order details. For security reasons the order details section on this email is not expandable width-wise, this may lead to the information being truncated. The second email will be from Irishmaps.ie itself and will contain an Irishmaps.ie order reference number. Additionally it will clearly display your order details in full. The reason you are sent two is so that we can track any problems you may have, quickly and accurately. Please keep both handy until you have received your order.
